Sketch a simple circuit and explain how the parts work together.

Use this example to make the language move visible. Select subject content appropriate to the class’s age and prior knowledge.

Teaching sequence

1. Prepare paper and a subject prompt and share the purpose: rehearsing an explanation. Keep the source or subject question visible.
2. Give quiet thinking time to sketch or jot an idea. Partners take turns explaining it, then add one detail after listening.
3. Ask learners to show the clue, language choice or evidence they used. Invite one partner to check it, then finish with an independent response.
