EAL IN PRACTICE · A PRACTICAL ROUTE

Run a focused staff session

A 30-minute modelling session followed by a small classroom trial and review.

  1. 01

    Prepare one real task

Bring an upcoming task, one model and two anonymised learner responses. Agree a narrow focus.

    Open the modelling clinic

Leave with: A decision to make visible and two feedback criteria.

  2. 02

    Rehearse with colleagues

Model briefly, rehearse in pairs and adapt the move to an upcoming lesson.

    Open the workshop plan

Leave with: A classroom trial for each colleague.

  3. 03

    Review the evidence

Set a review date. Compare subject accuracy, language clarity and independence before deciding what to change.

    Plan the review

Leave with: A shared adjustment grounded in learner work.
