Worked example

For Listen for What Is Uncertain, use a short oral explanation about materials and function in Design. Ask learners to record what is stated, what is inferred and what remains uncertain, with a spoken clue for each. They compare notes after the second listen, replay only the section that resolves uncertainty and finish with an individual response supported by a spoken clue.

Teaching sequence

1. Prepare a report with a limitation and identify exactly what learners need to hear for Listen for What Is Uncertain. State the listening purpose and model how to capture one useful clue without transcribing everything.
