Predict the next stage in a demonstration of a simple force.

Use this example to make the language move visible. Select subject content appropriate to the class’s age and prior knowledge.

Teaching sequence

1. Prepare an explanation with clear sequence and share the purpose: while-listening inference. Keep the source or subject question visible.
2. Pause at a natural point and predict what the speaker will explain next. Resume listening and revise the prediction.
3. Ask learners to show the clue, language choice or evidence they used. Invite one partner to check it, then finish with an independent response.
