Build your lesson
Start with 5 minutes, use 30 minutes for the main task and close with 10 minutes. Adjust the timing to your lesson. Your choices are saved in this browser.
A worked writing example
When did you last read something simply because you wanted to? A weekly reading exchange could help us discover books beyond our usual choices. Some may prefer to read alone; the exchange could remain optional. This Friday, bring one title and tell a classmate why it stayed with you.
Look for these choices
- The speech suits its audience and purpose.
- Reasons and examples connect clearly to the position.
- The ending offers a realistic action.
Teacher prompt
Who are you speaking to, which words should listeners remember, and what can they do next?
Adjust the support: rehearse a sentence aloud, offer a small phrase bank or mark a model together. Ask learners to make a fresh choice independently when they are ready.
